I went to college in Chicago. I should be used to cold, right?
Um, wrong.
All I have to say is that this past week at work (yes, that means inside), my attire has consisted of the following:
On top:
-tank top
-turtleneck
-another turtleneck
-heavy sweater
-at times, another heavy sweater
-fingerless gloves
-scarf
On bottom:
-tights (the warm kind)
-long johns
-pants
-wool socks (sometimes doubled)
-leather (i.e. warm) shoes
In addition, I have had a blanket wrapped around me at all times, had multiple cups of tea, chai, and hot chocolate to drink each day, and today I am even wearing a hat. Yet, I am far from being "warm". Even "moderately comfortable" is a stretch. It's currently 16 degrees outside, with wind chill it feels like 0. ZERO.
The conclusion?
I am not made for this kind of weather. Let's move to Mexico.
